Camp Fernwood is an all-girls residential summer camp located in Poland, Maine for campers ages 7 to 15. Founded in 1921, Camp Fernwood is rooted in the four principles of living simply, enjoying the beauty and wonder of natural surroundings, nurturing tolerance and unselfishness, and developing loving, lifelong friendships.

Camp Fernwood's program is intentional, allowing for friendships to form, independence and resilience to develop, and girls to fully immerse themselves in the complete camp experience.

Ages 6–16

Campers enjoy a hands-on experience mastering horsemanship and authentic Western activities while bonding with our rescue horses and farm animals. Our unique program features cooling off in a specialized arena swim area, peaceful fishing, and classic hayrides across the ranch. Between daily animal care and ranch-themed arts and crafts, youth build a "can-do" spirit and develop lasting confidence. It is a summer dedicated to making lifelong memories and learning empathy in a fun, outdoor setting.

Ages 4 - 12

Please note ALL single days and weekly themes will have appropriate riding lessons/activities for whatever level your child is at, including complete beginners.  ALL single days and weeks include daily pony/horse riding and horsemanship lessons in the morning and time on theme activities in the afternoon including games and crafts.  Full and half-days, before and aftercare available.
