Opa! Greek Festival New Orleans turns 40 this year. All of your favorite foods, drinks, events, and entertainments are back, along with some special surprises. Be on the lookout for veteran festival workers wearing a special button with red ribbons; they were here at the first Greek Festival New Orleans (and probably worked that one, too!). The Athenian Playground is perfect for the kids with facepainting, rock climbing, crafts, inflatables and my family's favorite - canoe rentals! Friday, May 24 - City Putt Grand Opening

The only mini golf course in NOLA opens Friday, May 24! Arrive early for the ceremonial ribbon cutting prior to the gates opening. The first 150 patrons through City Putt’s gates on opening day will have the chance to win a special prize. Complimentary popcorn and Arnold Palmers will also be available, while supplies last, for patrons waiting in line. City Putt is a 36-hole mini golf complex with two courses: the Louisiana Course highlights cultural themes and cities from around the state; the New Orleans Course showcases streets and iconic themes from around the city. Grab your rod & reel & join the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation (LPBF) for a weekend of fishing & family fun. To encourage our youth to fish and appreciate our wonderful natural resource the first 75 youth to enter receive a rod &  reel. Participants fish anywhere in the Pontchartrain Basin, including Lakes Pontchartrain, Maurepas, St. Catherine & Borgne, Breton Sound & surrounding bayous, rivers & tributaries. Awards, including "The Big Kahuna" will be presented to the top fisherman & "The Lil' Kahuna" awarded to the child who catches the Redfish w/ the most spots. Lots of other awards too!

Palm Tree Playground Mommy and Me group meets every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Story Time at Magic Box Toys


Weekly story time every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.

Who doesn't like to listen to a good story?

Starting February 27th, Magic Box Toys will host a weekly story time every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Story time is aimed at the 18 month - 3 year old crowd but all are welcome! It will last until 10:30 or longer depending on the kid's attention spans. Since this is a brand new event at the store, they'll be playing it by ear initially to see what works best.
