Let’s take a moment to think back to the last time you had a date night to yourselves. How long has it been? A week, a month, a few months? Well, it's time to make date night a priority this month. There are too many great events to pass on. From museum deals, to restaurant discounts, rockin’ concerts and even football games, August is packed with things for you and your date to do. So call up your sitter, clean off your date night shoes and get out on the town. New Orleans is your oyster this August.

Throughout August ~ Museum Month (participating locations)

This is another fabulous month-long opportunity to explore some of the best museums in the country. For all of August, New Orleans museums will allow members two free passes that grant you access to 9 local museums for free! Enjoy a delicious lunch with your honey and make your way to the New Orleans Museum of Art, The National World War II Museum, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Newcomb Art Museum and more. Every Friday  ~ Friday Nights at NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art, City Park)

Every Friday, the New Orleans Museum of Art hosts a spectacular event chock full of music, art, food and fun! Stop by and tour the museum in the afternoon, grab a drink, and enjoy some fantastic music at night! There are also artistic seminars and film screenings. The musical acts change each week. Enjoy live music at Tip's every Friday during the summer. Every dollar earned supports protecting & preserving Louisiana's musical culture. This event is free and open to patrons ages 21+. Saturday, August 4th ~ Whitney White Linen Night (Julia Street, French Quarter)

This event is a must. Enjoy a New Orleans style block party throughout the Warehouse District where local galleries will open their doors. Along with eye-catching art, there will be three stages playing nothing but the best music New Orleans has to offer. Grab a to-go cocktail and stroll through the New Orleans Art District. Saturday, August 11th ~ Red Dress Run (Begins at Crescent Park)

This is for the rowdier parents who are able to take a Saturday for themselves. Enjoy a full day date! The Annual Red Dress Run is a charity run - an incredibly fun event filled with costumes, alcohol and light exercise. If you are able to register ahead of time, runners receive unlimited food, drink and entertainment. All proceeds benefit local charities. Don’t forget to don your favorite red dress, men and women alike! Run starts at 12:30PM. $65 through August 7th. It’s that time of year again to start cheering on your favorite New Orleans football team, the Saints! There are two preseason games scheduled in August (the next one is August 30) which means there are two perfect date-night opportunities. Palmer Park hosts a monthly arts festival where it showcases the work of local New Orleans artists. Maybe late night events aren’t your thing so take a date day for yourself.
