As the summer rolls on in New Orleans, the heat gets oppressive, even scary at times!  Air conditioning sure is a welcome amenity when trying to keep your little ones entertained. So, why not hit up some kid's movies around town? Many theaters offer great ticket prices that usually include popcorn and a drink. Below is a list of the indoor movies and at the very end of the list are the outdoor ones too. At least those are at night when the temps have cooled a bit. Enjoy!

Family fun movies playing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the summertime! Admission to the Summer Movie Express is only $1. Tickets available for purchase at the box office and all movies in most locations start at 10:00 am. Check with your theatre for exact showtimes. Each week both movies play on both days. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

Sensory Friendly Films at AMC Theaters 
Sensory Friendly Films at AMC Theaters is for families affected by Autism to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing! The movies are on Saturdays at 10:00 am and Tuesdays at 7pm for an older audience. Click here for more details. Available at these theaters: Elmwood Palace 20, Westbank Palace 16, Houma Palace 10. You can make it a night packed full of fun with water play and movie watching. Cool Zoo/Gator Run is open from 6pm-8pm and the movie starts after 8pm. Movie tickets are $6 per person and children 2 and under are free! Cool Zoo/Gator Fun admission is an extra $6 per person and children under 2 are free. You can choose to just watch the movie - the Cool Zoo/Gator Run is an option.
