Happening this Weekend - Fourth of July Fun and More in New Orleans

There are so many ways to celebrate the 4th of July with your family this year. New Orleans is full of places to watch fireworks, have a picnic, and even find free inside fun to escape the hot weather. 

SATURDAY, JULY 2

Free Admission for Active Duty US Military at the WWII Museum
The National WWII Museum and the Blue Star Museums Network have partnered to offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families each summer. The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the US military or other dependent family members with appropriate ID cards. *This admission also includes Museum entry to the 4D film experience Beyond All Boundaries and other daily public programming.

Faubourg Red, White, and Blues BBQ Fest
Faubourg Brewing Co. is bringing the best parts of a backyard 4th of July party to our brew park! Our FREE fest will feature an all Blues line up, 17 ft waterslide, face painter and delicious local food vendors offering tasty BBQ dishes like BBQ Chicken Sandwiches, BBQ Wings, Pulled Pork, Brisket and more! Bring the whole family out! We'll wrap up in plenty of time to get home and see the fireworks.

Uncle Sam Jam Lafreniere Park Music & Fireworks 
Celebrate Independence Day at beautiful Lafreniere Park in Metairie at Uncle Sam Jam! Each year, festival-goers look forward to live music, delicious food, and great company! Uncle Sam Jam is a FREE festival featuring top local and national acts and fireworks show to close out the night.

Where: Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie, LA on the Al Copeland Concert and Meadow Stage
When: 3:00 PM - 10:45 PM

3rd of July Celebration at City Park
New Orleans City Park will celebrate the Fourth of July a day early with a spirited gathering of our community from across the region for a free night of music and fireworks. The patriotic program begins at 6 pm with music by the Marine Forces Reserve Band, followed by the national anthem sung by local artist Robin Barnes. The evening culminates with fabulous fireworks atop the Peristyle at 9 pm. Bonafried and Tanjariné Kitchen food trucks will be on site. Guests are encouraged to arrive early with chairs and blankets, while donning their red, white and blue!

Free Family Sunday at Longue Vue
Each first Sunday of the month, Longue Vue Gardens welcomes Louisiana families to stroll the grounds, explore the children's discovery garden, enjoy a picnic, and make themselves at home on the curated eight-acre property.

Monday, JULY 4
Audubon Zoo, Cool Zoo, and the Aquarium
Take the kids to see the animals, fish, butterflies, and insects! All of Audubon Institute's attractions are open Saturday, July 2 - Monday, July 4th.

4th Fest in Crescent Park and the Go 4th on the River Fireworks Display
Join us in celebrating Independence Day in Crescent Park! The evening will include live music, food, and beverage sales, and end with the Go 4th on the River fireworks display over the Mississippi River. Some food vendors will include Crazy Waffle Bar, JB's Softee Treats LLC, Mo Fries, NOLA Chef Scott's Creole BBQ, Valerie's Snowball and so many more! 9:00 p.m. enjoy the Go Fourth on the River fireworks display!

Fourth of July Fireworks in Abita Springs
Bring chairs, blankets, family, and friends to Abita Springs' Trailhead & Park for an Independence Day celebration with live music, fireworks, kids' activities, food trucks and snowballs, and Abita Beer. No outside food or drinks. 

Time 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Music starts at 6:30 p.m.,

The Victory Belles Patriotic Vocals
The Victory Belles are a delightful vocal trio performing a 30-minute, music of the 1940s showcase, serenading audiences at The National WWII Museum and across the globe. The music of the 1940s brought hope and joy to our GIs and those on the Home Front alike—and the Victory Belles keep that tradition alive in rich, three-part harmony. Their repertoire includes all the treasured gems of the WWII era plus patriotic classics that include a musical salute to each branch of the US armed forces.
