On April 27th, New Orleans bookstores will team up to celebrate the annual Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) with a Bookstore Crawl Passport Challenge. Activities will take place at seven local bookstores during this year’s event: Baldwin & Co., Blue Cypress Books, Community Book Center, Frenchmen Art & Books, Garden District Book Shop, Octavia Books, and Tubby & Coo’s Mid-City Book Shop.
New Orleans Bookstore Crawl Passport Challenge will take place over two weeks, instead of just one day! One lucky reader will win a $25 gift card from each of the participating stores ($175 total). To enter: visit all 7 stores between April 27th and May 11th.
Pick up your passport at the first bookstore you visit.
Each book store will add a unique stamp or sticker on your passport when you visit, no purchase is required to participate.
Make sure your name and email are included, and turn in your completed passport at whichever bookstore you visit last.
Independent Bookstore Day also offers a selection of unique, limited-edition books and merchandise created just for the special day.
Independent Bookstore Day was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013.
