2020 Easter Egg Hunts, Bunny Photos, and Parades in New Orleans

Before we know it, it'll be time for egg hunts, pictures with the Easter bunny, parades, and more! Below is a list of fun spring time events happening around town.  Due to the risk of event cancellations, Macaroni Kid strongly urges you to check with each event's website prior to attending

March 21

🐰Lakeside Easter Bunny's Arrival Celebration

9:45 am Lakeside Mall 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie

Happy Easter from Lakeside Shopping Center! Hop over to Lakeside's Center Court on March 21st as they welcome the Easter Bunny with an egg-celent egg hunt sponsored by Elmer Chocolate starting at 9:45 am followed by the Easter Bunny Second-Line Parade! Find the perfect outfit for your little bunnies and capture your family memory with an Easter bunny photo!  purchase an Express Pass to skip the line . Don’t forget to bring your Easter basket for the egg hunt!  While you’re there, don’t miss taking a ride on the Cottontail Train! Train hours are the same as Easter Bunny Photo hours. $1.50 per ride. Cash only.  


March 21

🐰 Easter Egg Roll at St. Mary's Dominican High School

10:00 am Dominican High School Main Lawn 7701 Walmsley Ave. 

The annual Easter Egg Roll, hosted by St. Mary's Dominican High School Alumnae Association, is a great time for all. Bring your own Easter basket for the Easter Egg Hunt.  There will be 3,000 Easter Eggs , with a special area for egg hunters who are under five years old. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Activities will include crafts, a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny and more! The event is $25 per family for up to 3 adults.  $5 per additional adult.   In the event of rain, the Easter Egg Hunt will be in Alumnae Hall.  Registration closes at midnight on March 18.  Late registration at the door is $35.


March 21 - April 11
🐰Easter Bunny Photos at Lakeside Mall
Mon - Sat 11am - 8pm; Sun 12pm - 6pm; Lakeside Mall 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie.

Get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny!  Photo packages with various prices.  Buy a photo package in advance on-line, and skip the line with an Express Entrance pass. Express passes are by appointment only.  REGISTER FOR A PHOTO PASS HERE. While you’re there, don’t miss taking a ride on the Cottontail Train! Train hours are the same as Easter Bunny Photo hours. $1.50 per ride. Cash only for the Cottontail Train   


March 28

🐰 Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Longue Vue House and Gardens

9:30 am Longue Vue House and Gardens 7 Bamboo Road

Join us in our beautiful gardens to find what treasures the Easter Bunny has hidden for you.  Each session will have:   Age-specific egg hunting areas (ages 0 – 18 months, 2 – 3, 4 – 6, and 7 and up), photos with the Easter Bunny, lawn games, arts & crafts, flower crowns …and more!  Morning Hunt: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM | Games and Activities start at 9:30 AM | Hunt starts at 10:00 AM. Afternoon Hunt: 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM | Games and Activities start at 1:30 PM | Hunt starts at 2:00 PM.  $18 per person | Members $15 per person | Free for children 2 and under.  Pre-registration is required. Time slots are not interchangeable. Tickets are nonrefundable. April 4 and 5

🐰 Egg Scramble at City Park

9:00 am Carousel Gardens and Amusement Park at City Park, 1 Victory Drive 

The day will begin with the gates of Carousel Gardens opening for those with Egg Scramble tickets at 9am. We will have music, face painters, the Easter Bunny,  and a balloon artist. All this extra fun is included in the Egg Scramble ticket price.  At 10am we'll blow the whistle for the Easter Egg Hunt to begin! Kids fill up their basket with eggs and enjoy the treats found inside the eggs.   There will be eggs with candy and treats iside and also eggs with special prizes such as City Park attraction tickets inside for those lucky enough to find them.   Storyland will be an area for toddlers only. Toddlers may participate in any area for the egg hunt, but no big kids will be allowed in Storyland until after the egg hunt is completed.  No need to bring your own basket to the Egg Scramble , we'll provide the kids with a basket they'll love.

Everyone is required to have a ticket this year, including members of Friends of City Park.   Babies under 1 year old will be admitted free. There is only a limited number of tickets sold for this event. We expect the event to sell out leaving no tickets available at the gate.  Photography Policy

Your $10/person ticket includes all activities from 9am to noon, Friends of City Park tickets are $5/membe. At noon there will be a charge for rides but not admission (you're already in the amusement park!) The gates of the amusement park will open for the public at noon.  Buy Tickets Here 


April 4

🐰 Mt. Carmel Easter Eggstravaganza 

9:30 am Duplantis Gym, Mount Carmel Academy 7027 Milne Blvd

Join us for an egg-cellent morning of Easter fun at Mount Carmel! Enjoy a full breakfast, a visit with the Easter bunny, crafts, games, and more!  Train rides and egg hunts throughout the event. Please bring your own Easter basket for the egg hunts. Bunny photos by Loupe Photography will be available for purchase, and MCA's Cub Shoppe will be open for business throughout the event.  Egg Hunt Times: 0-2 yrs. -- 10:30 a.m,  3-5 yrs. -- 11:00 a.m,  6+ years -- 11:30 a.m.  Please bring your own Easter basket. Purchase advance tickets here : Children (Age 1+): $8 in advance* | $10 at the door.  Adults: $10 in advance* | $12 at the door.  Free for children under age one

Family friendly Easter egg hunts at select NORD parks. Meet the Easter Bunny and find eggs filled with candy and prizes. Each event will feature face painting, space walks, carnival style games, races, and refreshments. Don't forget your Easter basket. Open to ages 3-12. Free! 


April 4

🐰 NOMA Egg Hunt & Family Festival

10:00 am NOMA - Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

Join us on Saturday, April 4th for the NOMA Egg Hunt and Family Festival in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Bring your family for a fun-filled day featuring egg hunts, a petting zoo, face painting, painting, crafts, activities and more! Entertainment and egg hunt,  begin at 10:00am.  Face Painting, juggler camp, magician,  petting zoo, and art activities begin at 10:00 am in the Front Garden.   Egg Hunts, craft station, face painting, hula hoop station, petting zoo, tattoo salon and art activities begin at 10:30 in the Back Garden.  Baby Base Camp: The baby feeding and changing station at the entrance gate presented by NOLA Family Magazine. Special Guests:   The Elmer Bunny by Elmer Chocolate, Curious George by WYES-TV, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell by When You Wish Entertainment. Advance tickets availbae until April 3rd.  All tickets are available at will-call the day of the event. Tickets will not be mailed.  Tickets valid for adults and children. Children age 2 and under receive free admission.  Purchase ADVANCE MEMBER TICKET– $10 , ADVANCE NON-MEMBER TICKET** – $15.  Ticket prices increase to $18 at the door (for members and non-members).

🐰 Sheriff Marlin N. Gusman's Annual Easter Egg Hunt

10:00 am.  Audubon Riverview Park "The Fly" 6500 Magazine St behind the Zoo 

Join us at the 15th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Hosted by Sheriff Marlin N. Gusman. FREE/ OPEN to the public.  Easter bunny will be there!  Ages 1-3 Egg Hunt 11am,  Ages 4-6 Egg hunt 11:15am,  Ages 7+  Egg hunt 11:30pm.  Plus sack races, face paintings, food, gifts, prizes (like free Audubon Zoo passes)


April 5

April 5

🐰 St. Bernard's First Lady Easter Egg Hunt

10:00 am Sidney D Torres Memorial Park Jean Lafitte Pkwy, Chalmette

First Lady Laurie McInnis and Parish President Guy McInnis would like to invite children and families of St. Bernard Parish to the 5th Annual First Lady Easter Egg Hunt Sunday, April 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  

Children ages 10 and under will enjoy a day filled with activities ranging from a traditional Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Bunny picture station, various yard games, obstacle course, train rides and more!

This fun FREE family-friendly event will include photos with the Easter Bunny, Dj by S&J Events, video games truck by NOLA Game Truck, Tumble Bus NOLA, face painting, and more!   Tickets are NOT required for this event. Sponsored by N3 Real Estate, Owners of Algiers Plaza.


April 12

🐰 37th Annual Chris Owens French Quarter Easter Parade
1:00 pm - The parade will begin at the corner of St. Louis and Royal

Starting at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel Ballroom at 11:00 a.m. with a Hat Contest, Silent Auction, and Entertainment. Riders will then hop on the floats and ride through the heart of the historic French Quarter. The parade will begin at the corner of St. Louis and Royal, continue down Royal to Canal to St. Phillip Street and conclude on St. Louis and Royal at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel. Following the parade, revelers can enjoy a Champagne Brunch and dancing. The parade will be complete with colorful floats, marching bands, beads, Easter trinkets, and plenty of eager revelers. As the Grand Duchess of the Easter Parade, Chris Owens will be dressed in her personally designed Easter ensemble, complimented by her beautiful and exotic Easter bonnet. The Duchess leads the annual Easter Parade with family and friends, who will also be dressed in their best Easter attire


April 12

🐰 20th Annual Gay Easter Parade

4:30 pm Parade starts at Rampart & St. Ann

The parade showcases the fashion and creativity of the entire LGBT community with gentlemen in summer suits/ tux with hats, and ladies in Easter suits/dresses with Easter hats.  No nudity, partial nudity or sexually explicit throws are allowed in the parade.
