Description
Bring your blankets, chairs and picnic fare to this free family friendly annual concert presented by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and City Park. Swing in the Oaks is a beloved New Orleans tradition that brings the magic of live orchestral music to the heart of City Park. Each spring, more than 5,000 audience members gather under the oaks to enjoy a free, family-friendly concert performed by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. This special evening also features 125 talented student musicians from our LPO Academy playing side by side with LPO professionals, creating an inspiring and unforgettable experience. It's a night of beautiful music beneath the stars! As a sweet treat, Creole Creamery will distribute 1,000 free scoops of ice cream to attendees! Scoops are available on a first come, first served, basis. Please note: While the sounds of LPO can be heard throughout the park and there are no bad seats, plan to arrive early if you want a spot near the orchestra. This free event is popular! Free parking available throughout the park; Dreyfous and Victory are closed during this event. Join us early at 6:00PM for a special performance featuring LPO Academy students. Total concert length approximately 90 minutes. Click here for more information.
