Lafreniere Park sparkles for the holidays with millions of twinkling lights and displays! Constructed with over 10 million LED lights, this holiday tradition transforms the park into a magical wonderland. At dusk, the lights come on as you drive through the light displays. You can then park and the kids can also explore Santa’s Express Mail Center, where they write letters to Santa & mail them at the Elf Post Office! There is also a FREE interactive walking area with additional displays & a pavilion that is home to live performances. The carousel is also open nightly. Park Admission & Entrances: The admission charge is ten ($10) dollars per vehicle in advance, $15 per car at the park. Credit or debit card only. All vehicles must enter from West Napoleon Avenue and exit at Downs Boulevard. Upon entering the park, traffic will flow counter-clockwise around the park. The Downs Boulevard Park entrance will close daily at 5:00 pm. The West Napoleon Avenue gate will close at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday – Thursday and 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Lafreniere Park will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25th, and will reopen on Dec. 26th. Driving and walking tours through the exhibit will be available Sunday – Thursday from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday –Saturday from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. For more info, call 504-838-4389.
