Description

The Kenner Planetarium and Space Science Complex features a NASA International Space Station prototype as well as an interactive weather exhibit! Travel out of this world at the Kenner Planetarium and Megadome Cinema! It houses a 50-foot domed screen and boasts 118 stadium style seats. Audiences will be dazzled by presentations related to astronomy, "Megadome" features, and laser light show presentations!  On Saturdays Planetarium show tickets are $6 (Adults), $5 (Seniors 60 and over), and $5 (Children 2-12 yrs.) per show and include admission to the Rivertown Space Science Complex on Saturdays. Saturday at 11:00 a.m. One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure (35 minutes) Join Big Bird, Elmo and their friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu as they locate the Big Dipper, the North Star and the moon in the night sky. Saturday at 12:00 p.m.  Nine Planets and Counting (35 minutes) How many planets are in our solar system? We'll examine each planet individually then look at the big picture. What is a planet anyway? The answer may surprise you. Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Laser Holidays (45 minutes) Frosty, Rudolph and other holiday favorites are brought to life through laser lights and music. Hear classics from Nat King Cole to the modern melodies of Mariah Carey. Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Season of Light (Running time: 35 minutes) Learn the history behind many of our holiday traditions and explore the sky at the time of Jesus' birth in the heartwarming planetarium show. Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Laser Holidays (45 minutes) Frosty, Rudolph and other holiday favorites are brought to life through laser lights and music. Hear classics from Nat King Cole to the modern melodies of Mariah Carey. Planetarium show tickets are $6 (Adults), $5 (Seniors 60 and over), and $5 (Children 2-12 yrs.) per show and includes admission to the Rivertown Space Science Complex on Saturdays.
