Description
Come out and enjoy FREE short train rides and meet Santa on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Louisiana Steam Train Association (LASTA) train yard at the rear of 1501 Jefferson Hwy, Jefferson, LA 70121. Ride with your family and friends in the open-air gondola or caboose, pulled by one of LASTA's historic diesel locomotives. Gate opens at 9:00 AM and be sure to wave at Santa Claus when he arrives on the train at 10:00 am. Once Santa arrives, we will have free rides and while you are here be sure to take a look at the historic 100 + year-old steam locomotive, SP 745 and the other multiple pieces of antique rail equipment dating back to the early 1900s. You can also learn about rail safety with the Operation Lifesaver team. Food, drinks, and gift shop merchandise are available for purchase while supplies last! All proceeds go toward the rebuild and maintenance of SP 745, the lone surviving Louisiana-built steam locomotive! Come join the fun! ALL ABOARD!!! Due to the nature of our Historic equipment, LASTA reserves the right to change the schedule or cancel trains at any time. No ticket pre-sales!
