2022 Season of the Summer Lyric Theatre at Tulane University
We are so excited to return to in-person camps for the summer!
For over 40 years, the youth of New Orleans have come to the Tulane campus to learn and perform musical theatre classics. Students work with Summer Lyric professionals to experience the challenges and rewards of this uniquely American art form.
Little Lyric (ages 8-12): HONK! Jr.
Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out that being different is not a bad thing to be.

Junior Lyric (ages 12-16): Junior Lyric Revue
What does it take to make a show?
Students will focus on honing solos, small group numbers, and ensemble pieces, and learn how to analyze and interpret musical theatre for an audience. Students will also have opportunities to see what goes on before the curtain rises, from choreography to set creation.
