Our preschool program recognizes and reflects our student’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles. Rather than adhering to stringent lesson plans, plans may vary from year to year, month to month, or even week to week, depending on each group of student’s interests and progress.
Within this framework, our curriculum gives children an opportunity to explore, experiment, manipulate, observe, and question. We encourage students to work with learning materials that promote understanding of perceptual properties such as colors, shapes, numbers, and science concepts. Language development and reading readiness are promoted through dramatic play, conversation, stories, and letter introduction. We encourage children to experiment and explore sensory experiences through creative art materials, and outdoor activities, creative body movement, and music help children develop gross motor coordination.
Our program also emphasizes Jewish values and practices, customs, and ceremonies of Shabbat, High Holy Days, and other Jewish holidays throughout the year.
