Learn advanced visual and performing arts skills under the guidance of professional artists in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

At Art Camp 504, students are encouraged to express themselves and take charge of their own creative journey. Classes have small student-to-teacher ratios and take place in unique partner venues: the Tigermen Den, a historic creole cottage, and the Music Box Village, an interactive sonic-sculpture garden with an indoor, air-conditioned schoolhouse. Both venues are located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans.

Our classes offer a range of projects for students to choose from each week, led by different teachers. We believe in teaching students to set achievable goals and manage their time effectively. We foster a community where students feel empowered to make their own decisions and cultivate their creativity. In addition to Summer Camp, we offer year-round after-school classes, virtual classes, and holiday break camps.

The daily schedule includes morning and afternoon art classes, with trips to Markey Playground, Clouet Gardens, and swimming at Stalling Pool. Every session concludes with a final presentation and celebration with family and friends!

CLASS SPOTLIGHT: Parade and Float Building!

On July 14th, Art Camp 504 is throwing a big family parade through the Bywater! Our students at the Tigermen Den (Parade Camp) and the Music Box Village (Float Building and Giant Puppets) will be meeting up to roll through the Bywater! Kids will be making costumes, banners, flags, throws, floats, giant puppets and more! We’re partnering with the Monster Parade and this spectacular event is not to be missed!

CLASS SPOTLIGHT: Toy Design Expo!

The only thing more fun than playing with toys is designing them! In this crafty session, students will challenge themselves to create fun, durable, and unique toys using a variety of art supplies and exotic found objects. Toy options include puppets, stuffed animals and clothes, trading cards, doll houses, action figures, and cars. Students will choose one or more toys to focus on over the course of the week. Every afternoon we will “test” the toys through organized play sessions! Students will work in groups or individually to create their own toy company - complete with a logo, toy boxes, and signage. On Friday, students will set up tables to present and pitch their fantastic new creations at the Toy Design Expo for family and friends!
