SUMMER ART CAMPS AT OGDEN MUSEUM!

Through a series of small, specialized camps, kids in grades 2 through 12 can explore painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography, fashion design, and more! Each session draws inspiration from Southern works of art and gives campers the chance to learn from professional artists.

FINE ARTS FUNDAMENTALS CAMP

For campers entering grades 2 – 5

9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Session I: Monday, June 10 – Friday, June 14, 2024 

Session II: Monday, June 17 – Friday, June 21, 2024 

Session III: Monday, June 24 – Friday, June 28, 2024 

Session IV: Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, 2024 

$300 members per session / $350 non-members per session

Have FUN this summer in the galleries of Ogden Museum of Southern Art! Join art educators Nidia Morales and Mikhayla Harrell for a week-long camp that highlights exciting works by Tina Girouard and Ogden Museum’s Permanent Collection. Taught by professional artists, this specialized camp will have campers explore painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, installation, and much more. Each session is original and offers a new experience.

FASHION CAMP WITH ROCRACK NOLA

For campers entering grades 5 – 8 

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 26, 2024 (2 weeks)  

$550 Members per session / $600 non-members per session

What does the future of fashion look like? Join instructors from ricRACK in an engaging fashion camp focused on sustainability in fashion. Each day, campers will spend part of the day creating a featured outfit for an end-of-camp fashion show, and the other part exploring how to be environmentally conscious citizens. Throughout the two-week camp,  participants will learn sewing and design skills that include re-use, repurpose, and “greener” ways to dress, while also honoring diverse bodies and aesthetics.

PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP 

For campers entering grades 6 – 12 

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Session I: Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19, 2024 

Session II: Monday, July 22 – Friday, July 26, 2024   

$300 Members per session / $350 non-members per session

Aspiring photographers of all levels are invited to join multidisciplinary artist Nidia Morales at a fun and exciting session of Photography Camp. Photography Camp focuses on the technical basics of photography, such as exposure, composition, and lighting. Through a hands-on experience, campers will learn artistic elements like storytelling, portraiture, documentary, and critique. Daily field trips to New Orleans institutions, galleries, and museums are included to enhance each day’s theme.
