Our meetings are FREE and open to all women interested in learning about breastfeeding. Your children are always welcome at our meetings; please bring quiet toys to entertain them. You are welcome to bring healthy snacks or drinks to share. A library of parenting books is available for yo. u to borrow. A membershiop in La Leche Leauge is $25. A copy of The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is $20Get both for a tax deductible donaiton of $40.
What we do:
•We host monthly meetings and answer telephone calls from breastfeeding women all over the Greater New Orleans area. •Each woman receives information sheets and pamphlets free of charge. •We print 500 copies of our newsletter three times a year and mail them to parents and medical professionals all over the area, at no charge. •We provide free information sheets and books to WIC clinics around the area. •We purchase and donate books on pregnancy, breastfeeding and parenting to libraries in Jefferson and St. Charles Parish. •We have a web page where mothers can find information on our meetings and a Leader to answer their breastfeeding questions. •Each mother who attends our meetings receives a free DVD with information on the importance of breastfeeding and basic information on getting started breastfeeding.
