Visit St. Mary’s Dominican High School and discover the Dominican Difference. Since 1860, St. Mary’s Dominican High School has been a leader of Catholic education in the New Orleans region. The school’s 164-year legacy is rooted in the tradition of prayer, study, community, and service. These are the pillars of Dominican life, and they form the foundation for the Dominican student’s experience.

The Dominican experience brings exceptional academics to a vibrant community of students, teachers, and personnel.

STREAM™ initiative explores the relationship between faith and reason by integrating Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

Dominican students’ class experience is in St. Mary’s Hall, state-of-the-art Gayle and Tom Benson Science and Technology Complex, Ermina Wadsworth│Azby Fund Technology Center, and beyond, for example, the Earth Science classes plant 350 Cypress and Water Hickory tree saplings in the Bonnet Carré Spillway; students attend Close Up in Washington, DC.

Dominican offers students a diverse range of 50-plus clubs, teams, and organizations they can join.

Retreats and community service projects also are part of the Dominican experience.

Dominican is a place for strong leaders, dedicated servers, and curious learners. Our students develop not only academically, but also spiritually and socially. They reach the highest level of academic achievement, grow in their faith, make lifelong friendships, and experience the power of service to others. St. Mary’s Dominican High School prepares young women for college, builds self-confidence in its students, and sets them on a path to lifelong success.
