Find Your Forever Dentist at New Orleans Childrens Dental Center

Back-to-school & back to biannual pediatric teeth cleaning! Kids love NOLA Childrens Dental Center.

By Lauren Ungar, Assistant Publisher July 30, 2024

Start your child's 2024 school year off right with fresh, pearly white teeth at New Orleans Childrens Dental Center, located in the heart of Lakeview New Orleans, Louisiana. Don't have a pediatric dentist yet? With over 40 years of combined dental experience, Dr. Claudia Cavallino, Dr. Kellie Axelrad, and Dr. Nicole Boxberger work together as a team striving to provide their patients with the highest standard of dental care.

New Orleans Childrens Dental Center is designed to create a warm, family-like environment, and extra effort is given to provide each child with the time, special attention, and individualized care they need. They proudly offer the latest treatments and technologies available in the dental field to ensure that their patients achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles while developing a positive relationship with the office that will transition them into a great adult patient.

Their pediatric dentists are specially trained to care for the oral health of children throughout their growth and development into adulthood. In addition to their general dentistry degree, all three doctors have completed two additional years of training in providing dental care to infants, children, teens, and those with special needs. Their doctors love children and make every effort to ensure your child is comfortable, treated with expert care, and EXCITED about coming to the dentist.

Why would my child be EXCITED about going to the dentist?

Hey y'all, it's me, your Assistant Publisher, Lauren. As you may know, my son has Down syndrome, and Dr. Cavallino and Dr. Axelrad, plus their incredible supportive staff, have been nothing but patient, soothing, and kind to my Jonah! It was our first pediatric dentist experience, and now we have been there for 10 years! So, Macaroni Kid New Orleans tested and approved! Here is what some other parents in our community have experienced:

"My children look forward to watching their favorite Disney movies while getting their teeth cleaned!" - Mom of 6-year-old Oliver and 4-year-old Brock

"My daughter looks forward to picking her own fluoride flavor (chocolate!), but mostly she looks forward to the toys and balloon at the end!" - Mom of 8 year old Mallory

Tips from Dr. Cavallino, Dr. Axelrad, and Dr. Boxberger:

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a child’s first dental visit by age one.
  • Establishing a dental home for your baby allows you access to doctors for important information regarding growth and development, as well as unexpected emergencies.
  • For patients in need of dental treatment who are very young, extremely anxious and fearful, and/or who have special medical needs, our doctors may prescribe treatment in a hospital setting. This option allows your child to receive the quality care and treatment they need without compromising the positive relationship they develop with our office.

“Whatever we would do for our own children, we are going to do for yours”
