The YMCA, with branches in East Jefferson, Belle Chasse, South Plaquemines and West St. Tammany, is committed to making sure that every child has the opportunity to have a summer full of adventure with learning opportunities, fun activities, and great friends! The YMCA offers a wonderful atmosphere that focuses on creating memories for campers based on their four core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
At the YMCA you can spend between one and ten weeks making friends, enhancing social skills, trying new things and gaining self confidence. Y campers enjoy themed weeks with activities to correlate including but not limited to sports, indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, fitness and more!
You can ensure the Y camp is a safe place to be - with staff required to attend at least 30 hours of training. Their training includes but not limited to CPR, First Aid, Character Development, Age Appropriate Activities, Child Abuse Awareness, and Positive Reinforcement.
