It's time for the Jefferson Performing Art Society's 44th Season Auditions of The Nutcracker! All auditions are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. You MUST sign up to audition. Please click here and scroll down to the sign up section.
This round of auditions will only be for The Nutcracker.
Location: The Nutcracker auditions will be held at Jefferson Ballet School Studio located at 3621 Florida Ave., Kenner, LA 70065.
The Nutcracker Auditions:
• Monday, August 23, 6:00pm - 8:00pm: Females, Ages 13 - 15
• Tuesday, August 24, 6:00pm - 8:00pm: Females, Ages 16 - adult
• Saturday, August 28, 2:30pm – 4:00pm: All Dancers, Ages 8 - 12
• Saturday, August 28, 4:30pm – 6:00pm: Males, Ages 12 - adult
• Sunday, August 29, 2:00pm – 3:30pm: All Dancers, Ages 4 - 7

Jefferson Performing Arts Society is committed to fostering inclusivity in our productions, accurately reflecting the wonderful diversity of the communities we serve. JPAS encourages artists of all ethnicities, genders, and ages to attend auditions.
Important Information
• All dancers auditioning must be prepared to take a full ballet class as part of the audition process. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes.
• Please arrive at least a few minutes prior to your designated time slot. Auditions will start promptly at the listed times.
• No resume or headshot required. We will take your pictures at the time of your audition.
• Rehearsals will begin at the end of September. They will be during the evening hours on Monday through Friday, which day(s) will depend on which part(s) the cast member earns, and on weekends, including Sundays. Not everyone will begin rehearsing at the same time, and there will be no full cast rehearsals until just before the show opens in December.
• Video auditions will be accepted until August 29, but all are encouraged to attend auditions in person. Email all video auditions to audition@jpas.org. Please include headshot and resume with your video. You do not need to schedule a time slot to send in a video audition.
• For Video Auditions Please Include:
• 1st arabesque, a terre and en l'air, right and left;
• a tendu/pirouette combination;
• an adagio combination;
• a petite allegro combination; and
• (if on pointe) a combination including echappes on pointe
*Covid-19 Precautions*
We will be taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our audition attendees and our staff, including the following measures:
• Masks will be required throughout the audition process.
• Barres will be sanitized frequently and between audition sessions.
• Physical distancing as much as possible.

• Please, DO NOT come to auditions without first scheduling an appointment.
• If you schedule an appointment, and you decide to CANCEL, please DELETE your sign-up, or NOTIFY audition@jpas.org. If you are on our list, we will be expecting you to show up.
The Nutcracker performances are December 18 & 19 at 2pm at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center (6400 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA)
