Libraries across the country host summer reading programs as a way to encourage reading as a lifelong habit, maintain reading skills that children and teens have achieved throughout the school year, and increase interest in libraries, and because it’s just plain fun. Join in on either the Orleans or Jefferson Parish libraries awesome summer reading programs by signing up today!

ORLEANS PARISH 
The Library's much-loved SUMMER FUN program has lots of fun in store for all ages. Get started by signing up for SUMMER FUN 2025. 

How to Participate:
1. There are three ways to sign up: Visit your neighborhood Library, register online, or use the app (instructions below). No matter how you register, don’t forget to pick up your registration prize, starting June 1, at your neighborhood Library.

2. Read, complete activities, and log your progress either online, in-app, or on paper. All reading counts: books, audiobooks, being read to, etc.

3. Complete blackout bingo – read 800 minutes and complete four activities (one from each list) – then visit your Library for the completion prize, while supplies last. Get your bingo card here.

JEFFERSON PARISH

JEFFERSON PARISH Library's Virtual Summer Reading Program June 1 - July 31

Reading challenge for babies, toddlers, kids, teens and adults. All ages earn 1 point for reading 1 hour, 1 book or completing 1 activity. At 5 points, kids will earn an animal hat and a Raising Cane's Free Kids Meal; teens and adults earn an entry into a Weekly Raffle for a $25 Amazon gift card. And the Grand Prize Raffle when you earn 50 points is an entry to win a $150  Amazon gift card. Find all the details here.
