I love going to all the Mardi Gras parades with my kids, but I hate missing out on some because I forget to put them on my calendar, which is why your publishers at Macaroni Kid New Orleans have put together a one-stop February 2020 calendar to print and post on your refrigerator! There are so many ways to celebrate Mardi Gras this year. Download and print the calendar and post it to your fridge! Follow a parade, dress up with your family in matching Mardi Gras outfits, and have some king cake!

Black History Month

Frederick Douglass. Booker T. Washington. Toni Morrison. Barack Obama. Martin Luther King, Jr. The list of influential African-Americans goes on and on. Choose an influential African-American your family can learn more about. Feb. 1-28

National Children's Dental Health Month

Talk to your kids about keeping their teeth healthy. Start morning and evening brushing routines. Having trouble getting your kids to brush? Make it fun! Get them an electric toothbrush and they can brush with independence. Remember to see the dentist twice a year. Feb. 1-28

Groundhog Day

Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? If he does, it's six more weeks of winter. This year the groundhog is set to make his appearance at 7:25 a.m. Follow along on the Visit Pennsylvania live stream of the illustrious event. Feb. 2

Valentines Day
Show your kids how much you love and appreciate them with 14 days of hearts on their bedroom door. Cut out different colored hearts, write something you appreciate about your child on the heart, and tape it to their door. It will brighten their day in February.

Kids Get Into It Too
Your kids might want to make paper hearts to tell their friends what they appreciate about them. This is a great exercise in thoughtfulness.
