One of my favorite things about being a parent is seeing the holidays through the eyes of my daughter. It’s such an exciting time of year and the perfect reason to spend even more time together as a family. This is the first year where she is really starting to get excited about the holidays, so I’ve been making a list of all of the fun activities that we can enjoy (that won’t stress me out and won’t break the bank!). I heard that IHOP was launching a kids’ holiday menu, so when I had the opportunity to visit IHOP in person for Macaroni Kid, I planned a little mommy and me breakfast with my daughter and her best friend to check out their limited time The Elf on the Shelf menu!!
The Elf on the Shelf menu includes items for kids of all ages, from Jolly Cakes and Oh What Funnel Cakes topped with shimmery elf sprinkles to a Holiday Ham & Sausage Omelette. This menu is fun and festive and kept 2 squirmy pre-schoolers in their seat for the duration of the meal, which makes it a winner in my book! We opted for the Little Elves Combo and a Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate, so the girls could have their fill of the green “jolly” pancakes alongside some eggs, bacon and hash browns. We topped it all off with a Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate.
You can enjoy The Elf on the Shelf menu now through January 1st, but there are a couple extra special things the elves at IHOP have in store for families this holiday season:
Welcome your Scout Elf Home with IHOP’s Welcome Back Breakfast!
It’s just about time for your Scout Elf to return home for the holidays, and while parents are prepping for the whirlwind of Scout Elf activity in their home, IHOP is inviting guests to the world’s largest Welcome Back breakfast event EVER! Their limited time menu will be in full swing and they're topping off this sweet family celebration with an Elf-themed activity sheet. This will be the first year for our family to welcome The Elf on the Shelf Scout Elf into our home and we will be heading back to IHOP to celebrate. #ScoutElfReturnWeek starts on Friday, November 29th and ends on Sunday, December 1st.
Kids Eat Free through the end of the Year!
Yup! You heard it! Now through the end of the year, when you visit IHOP between 4 pm - 10 pm and order an adult entree, kids 12 and under can select an entree from the kids menu for FREE! This includes entrees from their The Elf on the Shelf menu as well. It can be tough for us to get out the door in the mornings, so this is a really fun way to wrap up a day of holiday shopping or activities.
