The stage is never dark at Rivertown Theaters! Next up will be the delightful, original Patchwork Players production, “Snow White” performed on the Lagniappe Stage June 24 - 30.
The late Buzz Podewell, founder of Patchwork Players, and his troupe of zany actors had been acting silly for so long that grandmothers remember coming to the shows as kids. Since 1984, each June and July they performed two different plays at the Rogers Memorial Chapel on the Tulane uptown campus. The company has been very popular over the years presenting a different program every four years. They dance, sing, tell jokes and interact with audience members, engaging several tots in the cast at each performance.
The Patchwork Players bring to life SNOW WHITE, as only they can! Children will see the evil Queen, the dashing prince and Snow White herself in Patchwork Players zany reimagining of Grimm's time-honored fairy tale in this delightfully wacky retelling of the classic story. With the Patchworker's silly sense of humor, kids get a chance to turn into trees to help hide Snow White from the wicked witch, sing songs, and 6 lucky kids get the coveted roles of Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, Sleepy, Grumpy, and Doc! Loads of fun for kids and adults.
Tickets are $10 general admission. School Field Trips are also available.
The show is directed by Jessica Podewell and the cast stars Gary Rucker, Greg Stratton, Scott Sauber, Mike Harkins, Allee Peck & Shelbie Mac.
