Check Out Japan Fest on October 11

At the New Orleans Museum of Art

Get your tickets for Japan Fest, happening Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Organized by NOMA, the Consulate General of Japan in Nashville and the Japan Club in New Orleans, Japan Fest is the largest celebration of Japanese culture in the Gulf South. It’s a day to sample Japanese cuisine and enjoy traditional dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, and more.

This year's event will feature live performances from Kaminari Taiko of Houston and Minoyo Dance Group, among others; workshops on taiko drumming, Japanese language learning, and other skills; merchandise from vendors including TwootieTarte, Kawaii NOLA, and Minty Mix; food pop-ups from Nori Guys, Ajun Cajun, and

Admission: $10 | $5 for NOMA members | Free for 19 years old and under

Tickets are available for purchase at the admissions tables in front of the museum and in front of the main gate of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden.

COSTUME GUIDELINES:

For the safety and comfort of all guests, as well as the artwork at NOMA:

• No masks are permitted.

• Accessories or weapons (ex: swords) greater than 2 feet in length will not be permitted.

• No sharp objects.

• Costume components cannot exceed or extend 2 feet in length from body.

• Please keep all costumes family friendly.

• Guests participating in the costume contest are still required to pay the $5 admission fee.
