FORESTival: A Celebration of Art and Nature at A Studio in the Woods

Announcing FORESTival: a celebration of art and nature at A Studio in the Woods. 

FORESTival is the only time during the year that A Studio in the Woods is open to the public at large and this signature celebration of art and nature is not to be missed. There is a $10 suggested donation per adult.

● Music will be provided by The Asylum Chorus, Byron Asher and Guests, Confetti Park Players and Make Music NOLA
● Current and former artist residents and guest artists including Jane Hill, ISeeChange, and John Kleinschmidt will exhibit and be available to discuss their work throughout the event.
● Art activities for kids and kids-at-heart alike including advetnures in clay and silkscreening 
● Walks in the woods with scientists David Baker, botanist and ASITW Environmental Curator, and Kimberly Mighell, entomologist
● Food and beverage available for purchase
● Silent auction of one-of-a-kind art objects and experiences

 A Studio in the Woods is located in Lower Algiers at 13401 Patterson Rd. New Orleans LA, 70131, about a 25 minute drive from downtown New Orleans.

About A Studio in The Woods:

A Studio in the Woods, a program of Tulane University’s Bywater Institute is located in 7.66 forested acres on the Mississippi River in New Orleans. ASITW is dedicated to preserving the endangered bottomland hardwood forest and providing within it a peaceful retreat where visual, literary and performing artists can work uninterrupted. Programming includes six-week artists’ residencies, one-week scholarly residencies, special invitation residencies, Kids in the Woods Summer Camp, and the annual celebration of art and nature, FORESTival. One of few live-in artists’ retreats in the Deep South, A Studio in the Woods fosters both environmental preservation and the creative work of all artists.
