The details:
Leaders Club is a 36 week program with 16 learning sessions. It meets Tuesdays at 6:30 pm and has a variety of perks and requirements, ranging from social events to service events to fundraising events. There’s even a fitness component! The social events have included bowling, movie nights, pool parties, sports events, and more! There are also many learning adventures including group fitness, kayaking, a ropes course, and most importantly, there are opportunities to give back to the community through service with the YMCA’s Kids Night Out events, child care, community care, hunger outreach, and health awareness.
At the end of the program the participants have the chance to attend the Blue Ridge Leaders' School, as long as the participant has fulfilled the fundraising requirement. The purpose of Blue Ridge Leaders’ School is teen leadership development through YMCA health and physical education.
