Do you read aloud to your baby? You might think a baby is too young to reap the benefits of hearing you read them a story...not true. Story time with your infant is bonding time, increases their vocabulary when they begin to speak, introduces them to emotions, visuals, and let's them know reading is fun!
To help you on this reading journey, The New Orleans Public Library offers the Every Child Ready to Read Workshops and there are several this week for you to check out.
You might be wondering what Every Child Ready to Read actually is? It's main goal is to educate parents about the importance of early literacy and how to nurture pre-reading skills at home.
Teaching parents and other caregivers how to support the early literacy development of their children is the basis of Every Child Ready to Read® @ your library®.
When do children start learning language? How can I prepare my child for Kindergarten? Will this help my child in school?
Get the answers and everyday activities that prepare your child from birth to age 5 for success in school. There are 4 workshop topics, each with different activities, a free book, and a kit to take home. And they’re FUN!
