January 16, 2014
Come check out this cool exhibit at the Louisiana Children's Museum - the RiverWorks Discovery Exhibit!

RiverWorks Discovery Exhibit is designed to teach the importance of commerce, culture and conservation on America’s inland waterways. Visitors learn about the uses of the Mississippi River and the wildlife of the waterways of Mississippi and Louisiana. Follow grain barges down the Mississippi River from a farm in Minnesota to the world’s grain market through the Port of New Orleans. Enjoy and play river songs, noodle a catfish, learn how to help preserve and protect our rivers and the sea, and more.

“The RiverWorks Discovery national traveling exhibit tells the big stories of our nation’s rivers -- commerce, culture and conservation--and the role that rivers continue to play in our nation’s future,” said Jerry Enzler, President and CEO of the Museum, Rivers Hall of Fame, and RiverWorks Discovery.

“We are extremely privileged to host the RiverWorks Discovery exhibit at the Louisiana Children’s Museum,” said Julia Bland, CEO. “This exhibit fits perfectly with the Museum’s core education initiatives and offers opportunities for visitors to explore our waterways through interactive experiences, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts such as sedimentation, conservation, ecosystems, and much more.”

RiverWorks Discovery is a national traveling exhibit of the National Rivers Hall of Fame and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, made possible in New Orleans through support from The Eugenie and Joseph Jones Family Foundation.

The RiverWorks Discovery traveling exhibit is also funded with major support from: American Electric
Power Foundation, AEP River Operations, AmherstMadison, Cargill, The Eugenie and Joseph Jones Family Foundation, Ingram Barge Company and the McKnight Foundation.
