The second annual New Orleans Puppet Festival includes an impressive line-up of local and national puppeteers, performing over two weekends at the Marigny Opera House–for family friendly shows—and the Mudlark Public Theatre (adult only performances), taling place this weekend and next. Plus, kids can enjoy some really cool puppet making workshop led by professional puppeteer Sarah Frechette.
Following the enormous success of New Orleans’ first-ever Puppet Festival last year, the Marigny Opera House and the Mudlark Public Theatre will present this year’s festival over two weekends this spring. Seven puppet troupes will present kid-friendly performances at the Marigny Opera House, and four will present late-night, adult-only shows at the Mudlark Public Theatre.

Tickets for Marigny Opera House Performances:: $20/$10 students and seniors. Available online at www.marignyoperahouse.org, or at the door. All shows begin at 7pm, doors open at 6:30pm. General seating only.
Puppet Making Workshops
About puppeteer Sarah Frechette: I am a Portland, Oregon based artist and have conducted many workshops at the Portland Art Museum as well as Libraries and Schools across the U.S.. This is my second time performing as part of the Giant Puppetry Festival! Last year I performed with my marionette trunk show "The Snowflake Man" and it was very well received. I thought it would be fun this year to host workshops so that kids could make & take home puppets to perform their own shows!
