Sid the Science Kid: The Movie

FREE Red Carpet Event at Rivertown Museums

March 14, 2013
Hey moms! This looks like a lot of fun!

WYES and the Rivertown Museums invite you to a free Red Carpet Event for the premiere of SID THE SCIENCE KID: THE MOVIE on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Kenner Planetarium and Megadome Cinema, 2020 Fourth Street in Kenner. The movie will be shown twice – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. No reservations are needed, but seats are limited.

SID THE SCIENCE KID: THE MOVIE follows Sid and his friend Gabriela through their adventure in The Super Ultimate Science Museum. After winning a science fair contest, Sid and Gabriela get a special viewing of the new museum before it opens to the public. Once there, they meet quirky scientist Dr. Bonabodon, Bobbybot, and contest winners, Yangyang and Niuniu, from China. Together they observe giant honey bees, investigate robots, and even encounter a giant singing Tyrannosaurus Rex. But after something goes wrong, together they learn that you can be a scientist at any age and that thinking like a kid is sometimes the best way to solve a problem!

Bring the entire family and come walk the red carpet with a “Hollywood” feel. Once inside, young scientists can explore the entire Rivertown Science Center and Space Station Kenner Museum. Be sure to stop by Sid’s recently installed exhibit featuring hands on activities on health, science, nutrition and more. There will be volunteers on hand to help with fun and educational activities for all ages. And for the future space  explorer, the Stennis Space Center Education department will be on-hand conducting robotic demonstrations. Concessions will also be for sale.

If you can’t make it to the sneak peek, then be sure to watch SID THE SCIENCE KID: THE MOVIE on WYES Monday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and Friday, March 29 at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Airing on WYES weekdays at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., SID THE SCIENCE KID helps further develop children’s natural wonder and builds a strong foundation for early science exploration.
