Encore Studio of Dance, Tumbling, Music & Theatre offers a variety of Camps and Classes this summer for children from three years old to teens. Ranging from Musical Theatre Camp to Dance, Tumbling and Music classes and mini-camps, there are many opportunities for kids to have fun at camp and on stage. Located in River Ridge, Encore Studio of Dance, Tumbling, Music & Theatre is a performing arts school with a focus on education, not competition. With their positive and creative environment, the Encore summer programs attract the top artists in the city to work with their campers.
Musical Theatre
There are several options for Musical Theatre Camps this summer:
Glee! The Musical (Season 2) runs from June 4-24 for kids entering 3rd grade and up. Campers will perform age appropriate production numbers orchestrated for young voices that are hand chosen for the participants. There will be solo and group numbers and an opportunity for campers to challenge themselves. Public performances will be presented on a local theatre stage on June 22, 23 & 24.
Broadway Smash runs from July 9-29 for kids entering 5th grade and up. This is a chance for campers to experience performing numbers from the biggest SMASH hits on Broadway. Campers can drop their song suggestions in the SMASH box at the studio for a chance to perform their dream roles from their favorite shows. Public performances will be presented on a local theatre stage on July 27, 28 & 29.
Broadway Baby Mini-Camps are for those entering Kindergarten through 2nd grade. There are two sessions to choose from (1-week & 2-week), with a different production number being taught in each session, or students can attend both sessions. In addition, the campers will perform their number in the older students’ main stage theatre performances for Glee! The Musical or Broadway Smash.
Dance
Encore Studio the popular Princess Ballerina Mini-Camp for ages 3 through 5. The ballerinas are supplied with tutus and tiaras and will participate in a “royal performance” at the end of the week.
Tumbling
There are Tumbling classes available this summer for every level and there is no gymnastics experience required. These classes range from the fundamentals of Gymnastics to learning how to do back handsprings and Running Tumbling.
Music
This summer, Encore is offering 30-minute private voice and piano lessons for children 5 years and older. The lessons are given by university trained instructors who relate their teaching to each student’s individual learning style.
