Calling all kids!
The Downtown Development District and Entergy present the annual holiday fun run for kids on Canal Street! Rudolph, Santa and friends will jingle their bells to signal the start of the race. Participants will receive a race t-shirt and a bag of holiday goodies. After the race, “Romp” around Canal Place Plaza and enjoy healthy activities, games, music, crafts and more! Looking for even more fun? Participate in the Canal Street Holiday Scavenger Hunt to collect treats and register for a chance to win exciting holiday prizes!

RACE COURSE
The “sleigh-measured” Reindeer Run is a 1-mile holiday fun run for kids and families on Canal Street, beginning and ending at Canal Place Plaza with a turn-around at N. Rampart Street. Runners and walkers are required to stay on the street and may not use the sidewalks or neutral ground.
EGG NOG JOG (Happens before the Run)
For reindeer runners who aren’t as fit as Rudolph, walk the 1/2 mile Egg Nog Jog and take in the festive sights along the way! Remember, prizes will be given for the best holiday costumes and stroller decorations! Children 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
CANAL PLACE REINDEER ROMP
After the run, stick around for holiday festivities including music, healthy snacks and drinks, kid-friendly holiday activities (like Yoga with Santa!), “Reindeer Games” and prizes for kids of all ages! Santa Claus, reindeer and more merry friends will make surprise visits as well!
RACE AWARDS
The presentation of race awards will take place during the Canal Place Reindeer Romp on Canal Place Plaza. All participants will receive a prize. No official results will be kept, but reindeer runners are encouraged to check their time on the race clock at the finish line.
COSTUME CONTEST
Santa and his helpers will be the jolly judges in the Reindeer Run & Romp Costume Contest! Categories will include Most Creative, Most Festive, Best Group Costume, and Best Decorated Stroller.
PRE-REGISTERED SHIRT AND RACE NUMBER PICK UP
Pick up your race number, shirt & reindeer antlers Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Place St. Charles, 201 St. Charles Ave, 39th Floor, Suite 3912, between 12PM - 6PM.
If you are unable to pick up on that day, your race bag will be available for pick up at the pre-registration tent the morning of the race.
