Volunteers must be 15 years or older

May 21, 2015
Volunteers Needed Starting June 1st!

Second Harvest Food Bank is seeking many volunteers to assist in their Community Kitchen this summer.  Volunteers must be 15 or older to sign up for Community Kitchen shifts. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours. Volunteer youth and adult groups are welcome!

Second Harvest will be making 6-7,000 meals a day for low-income children in summer camps in the Greater New Orleans Area, so they will need lots of helpers!

In the summer children are out of school and most at risk of hunger because they are not receiving free and reduced breakfast and lunches. Second Harvest partners with about 80 different feeding sites like Boys and Girls Clubs and community centers that are doing summer camps for kids and need to send out breakfast, lunch and snacks each day for nearly 4,000 children during the Summer Feeding Program.

They need lots of volunteers to plate up all those meals for kids!
