2015 Finalist - National Medal for Musuem and Library Science

Louisiana Children's Museum

February 27, 2015
We all know the Louisiana Children's Museum is the fun place to go with kids down in the Warehouse District. It's big blue doors open wide and inside is a world of adventure and discovery for our children.

But did you know the Louisiana Children's Museum reaches out into the community with many programs that focus on early childhood development, resiliency building, family literacy, parenting and other critical life skills. Play Power, Word Play, Literacy Pathways, Family Camp, Family Fest, Sensory Friendly Family Learning and others offer the city's kids and families ways to enrich their lives.

For these efforts, The Louisiana Children's Museum has been named a finalist for the 2015 National Medal Award for Museum and Library Service by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This award is the nation's highest honor for extraordinary public service, recognizing institutions that are valuable community anchors.
