Public Nature Walks by NORDC

Need a break from the city? Craving nature? This seems like a nice outing for moms who are free on Tuesdays and have little ones that are up for a walk outdoors.

Experience the wonders of nature in our own back yard. Meet either at the location, or at the designated NORDC rec center for complimentary transportation to the trailheads. All walks begin at 12noon.

Tuesday, January 27
Woodlands Trail, 449 F. Edward Hebert Blvd., Belle Chasse
Meet at the front of the park or take the complimentary shuttle from Cut-Off Rec Center departing at 11:40am.
Tucked between Planter’s Canal, Donner Canal, and the Mississippi River, this wide, lush roller coaster trail through a coastal forest ecosystem transports you to another world!

Bayou Savage
Optional complimentary shuttle departs from Joe W. Brown Rec Center at 11:40am.

Tuesday, February 10
Couturie Arboretum 1009 Harrison Ave
Meet at the trail head for Courturie Forest in City Park or take complimentary shuttle from Gernon Brown Rec Center at 11:50am.

Tuesday, February 24
Jean Lafitte National Park-- Coquille Trail
Meet at the trail head in the parking lot, found by following Barataria Blvd all the way into the park or take complimentary shuttle from from Behrman Rec Center at 11:30
