Premiere Party Review ~ Sofia The First: The Curse of Princess Ivy

By TIffany Truxillo November 20, 2014
Macaroni Kid New Orleans recently hosted a premiere party before the release of the newest Disney special SOFIA THE FIRST: THE CURSE OF PRINCESS IVY. Although our guests got to see the episode early, the good news is that it was released November 23rd on the Disney Channel! So now your little ones can watch the newest SOFIA the FIRST special as well!

For our premiere party, Madelyn, my second grader, invited a few friends over (16 girls in total) to watch the screening!

Before the movie, it was princess craft time! All the girls had fun creating their own Princess scene using Sofia the First stickers, decorating butterfly clips with markers and sequins, and even made their own personalized popcorn cups.

The princess crowns and tiaras were a big hit too!

The girls all settled in with popcorn and cheeseballs as the movie began, and we were shocked to see 16 seven year old girls ALL quiet at the same time while watching the movie! They were so enthralled with Princess Sofia and her plan join forces with Ambur and Rapunzel to conquer Princess Ivy. They made themselves comfy on sleeping bags and pillows thrown around the room. The feedback received was that they all LOVED the movie! Seeing Rapunzel was a big hit. When it ended we talked about the movie's message and the girls understood the theme: that working together can help you achieve your goals. After it was over, they had fun learning to throw popcorn into their mouths. Unfortunately, about 99% of it landed on the floor!

Everyone left the premiere with a SOFIA the FIRST movie poster as a reminder of the release date of November 23rd. If you missed the movie last night, don't worry! It’s playing on the Disney Channel almost daily so go check it out!
