Win 4 tickets!

November 20, 2014
Christmas in the District is bringing the fun indoors this year!

The highlight of the event will be "NOLA ChristmasFest," a 2-week indoor festival inside the Great Hall of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, December 12th – 24th with holiday fun for your whole family.

There will be so much to do and see at NOLA Christmas Fest! Discover the My New Orleans Christmas display after a journey through the Great Hall of Trees exhibiting a stunning collection of over 50 decorated trees as well as a Gingerbread House competition which benefits Operation Homefront, an organization supporting local military families.

Kids of all ages will have a blast in Santa’s Playland with the inflatable zone, petting zoo and a host of children’s crafts and activities.  A variety of holiday characters will include special appearances by Mr. Bingle and a photo opportunity with Santa Claus. Enjoy a meet and greet with the Ice Princess, the Ice Queen and friends.

Community Stage
will feature Christmas entertainment, cooking demonstrations, puppet shows and local choirs.  On weekends the “Arts and Craft Market” gives visitors the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts.

The season kicks off with a Children’s Lantern Paradeat CITD on December 12th. Join NOLA Christmasfest and Galeria Alegria for a festive procession of lights and Christmas caroling for children and adults of all ages. This parade led by Santa Claus and a brass band, departs from Fulton Street by Harrah's Casino at 4:45 pm on Friday, December 12th and will make it's way to NOLA Christmasfest within the Great Hall of the New Orleans Ernest M. Morial Convention Center. Be a part of the opening celebration for NOLA Christmasfest and the first to experience this spectacular new Christmas tradition!

Mrs. Cheryl Landrieu will make a special appearance as the doors to NOLA Christmasfest are opened and Christmas classics will be read to our young audiences. Come visit the Great Hall of Trees, Galeria Alegria's Beadtown Mosaic, Santa's Playland and more!

Children 12 and under may participate in the lantern walk for free and will have free admission to the NOLA Christmasfest immediately following the lantern walk. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Adult admission to NOLA Christmasfest is $15 per person. Reserve your child's spot in the Lantern Parade by clicking here.
