As part of Macaroni Kid National’s “Do Something Great Day!” initiative, publishers nationwide are hosting events to benefit their communities. Here in New Orleans, I nominated the YMCA’s afterschool program scholarships as the beneficiary of this fun event at Palm Tree Playground. When you attend and purchase raffle tickets you are helping at risk children attend an afterschool program offering sports, outdoor play, art, STEM activities and literacy, and you are playing a big part in the MK Do Something Great Day.
