Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is throwing a party to thank thousands of its closest friends – members!

Not a member? Membership booths will be open the night of SEAlebration, so guests can join right at the entrance and enjoy the festivities.

Audubon Nature Institute members are invited to SEAlebration, a free party where they will get a peek behind the scenes of their favorite Aquarium. Halloween costumes are encouraged! The annual event will be held Friday, October 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, located at 1 Canal Street in New Orleans.

"This annual party is a big thank you to our members for supporting Audubon's conservation and education programs,"  said the Aquarium's Managing Director Rich Toth.  "We're excited to offer SEAlebration guests special behind-the-scenes opportunities, including extraordinary views of the top of the Maya Reef and Gulf of Mexico
habitats and meet and greets with some of our most popular residents."

Attendees are invited to talk with divers, meet the penguin keepers, and to take a look at the kitchen where meals are specially prepared for the Aquarium's animals.

The party will feature a nine-piece rhythm and blues band, the Bucktown All-Stars, along with face painting and visits by Audubon Nature Institute outreach vehicles.

Entomologists from Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium will offer up-close encounters with live bugs and edible insect treats.

Partygoers are invited to a complimentary showing of Hocus Pocus in the Entergy Giant Screen Theater and will enjoy a 20% discount at the gift shop on select items.

SEAlebration at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is complimentary for Audubon Nature Institute members.

The Aquarium will close October 14, 2016 at 3 p.m. and reopen at 4:30 p.m. Membership card and photo ID are required for admission. Guest passes are not accepted at the SEAlebration event.
