Small, artistic camps for creative youth entering grades 2 - 12

The Ogden Museum presents a series of small, artistic camps for creative youth entering grades 2 - 12. Guided by professional artists and Museum educators, campers will explore fine arts techniques such as drawing, painting, printmaking, design, photography and more, while taking full advantage of a unique museum environment. Advanced Fashion Camp
June 6-10
9 am – 3 pm
Students entering grades 9 – 12
$300 members/$330 non-members
 
For future fashion designers, working with former 7th Avenue designer & Parsons graduate Veronica Cho will provide a jumping-off point for serious students vying for a career in the fashion world. Students sketch designs, make dress forms, & create a head-to-toe look that is runway-ready. The camp culminates in a fashion show for a true 7th Avenue experience
 
Art and Drama Camp
June 13-24
9 am – 3 pm
Students entering grades 2 – 5
$450 members/$500 non-members
 
Working with actor & director Andy Vaught of Cripple Creek Theater Co., & Visual Teaching Artist Suzanna Ritz, students learn basic art & performance skills, create the script, props, scenery & more for an original, multi-act play performed on the last day of camp.
                            
Fine Art FUNdamentals
June 27-July 8
9 am – 3 pm
Students entering grades 2 – 5
$405 members/$450 non-members (prices pro-rated due to July 4th holiday)
 
Explore a wide variety of 2D & 3D media in this FUNdamentals camp! Focus is on traditional techniques - drawing, painting, sculpture, & collage & then add in comics, animation, screen printing, & more! Campers work w/ professional visual artists to create individual & collaborative works inspired by the Museum's collection & great works of art from around the world.
 
Fashion Camp
July 11-22
9 am – 3 pm
Students entering grades 5 – 8
$450 members/$500 non-members
 
Working with Alison Parker of ricRACK NOLA, students follow the process of a fashion designer from sketch to finished product. Classes start w/ research & design techniques, figure drawing, & construction (sewing by machine & hand), culminating in a realized “Couture” piece. Students work with Dance Instructor Liese Weber, to create a choreographed fashion show presented at the end of the session.
 
Photography Camp
July 5-15
Students entering grades 6 – 8

Working with portrait photographer & educator Aubrey Edwards, campers spend the first week learning basic elements of photography including composition, exposure, storytelling, & functions of their camera. In the second week, students focus on more advanced areas of photography such as photojournalism, portraiture, fashion & lighting. Campers leave with a portfolio of edited work & participate in a student-curated Museum exhibition opening White Linen Night.
