Gather the entire family to celebrate treasured holiday traditions and make new memories at Festival of Trees Family Fun Day -- Saturday, December 5 at the Louisiana Children’s Museum, 420 Julia Street, New Orleans. The Museum will be decorated with a whimsical collection of holiday trees, created by local schools, artists, and community partners, and bring children, parents and grandparents together to kick off the holiday season.

 

Festival of Trees Family Fun Day will begin with a Patron Brunch and Pajama Party from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The fun and the Pajama Party continues with a Family Fun Day General Admission from 12:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Special event ticket prices apply. All proceeds benefit the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s educational programs and exhibits.

Wear your coziest holiday pajamas and begin the day with a delicious family breakfast prepared by Chef Jay Mendoza compliments of Le Pavillon Hotel. Mix and mingle with Mr. Bingle, take a family photograph compliments of Peoples Health, and listen to live jazz music by Newman Jazz Band. Enjoy holiday caroling with Louisiana History Alive characters at 11:30 a.m. featuring a special program of holiday songs from around the world. The fun will continue into the afternoon with games, crafts, cookie decorating, special performances and more!

The fun continues with an afternoon holiday pajama party.  Decorate a chef’s hat compliments of the John Besh Foundation then decorate holiday cookies provided by Holy Cross Primary School. Help Rudolph find his nose in an all-new scavenger hunt. Enter the “Snowman Sprint”, where you’ll race to transform a family member into a snowman.  Take a family photograph, learn how snowflakes are formed, and play with Insta-Snow. Create a family snow globe and a sheet-music ornament, and enjoy holiday performances by the New Orleans Dance Academy and Hope Stone New Orleans.

 

In addition to the Family Fun Day festivities, the Louisiana Children’s Museum will host a raffle of spectacular holiday gifts including:  a Dillard’s Designer Decorated Tree, a dinner for two compliments of Criollo Restaurant & Lounge and a one-night stay at The Royal Sonesta Hotel, an adult and child bike compliments of LeJouet, an autographed Drew Brees football, two hours of professional genealogy research by Capital Genealogy Family Research, and a Louisiana Children’s Museum Birthday Blast.
